Connecting the Dots Conference 2019

Join the CNIB Foundation as we launch our nationwide conference – Connecting the Dots – the largest educational and professional development experience focused on technology, employment and literacy for people with sight loss.

History

For over 40 years, the CNIB Foundation hosted the Braille Conference – a Toronto-based event where individuals with sight loss, braille transcribers, educators and CNIB staff members gathered to discuss the latest advancements in literacy.

Through further research and collaboration with Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, our conference has evolved into a more inclusive event that covers a range of topics, including technology, employment and literacy.

About Connecting the Dots

Everything we know about how we live, work, play and interact is quickly evolving. Attitudes are shifting and technology is advancing. These changes have improved the lives of many individuals with sight loss – but we still have barriers to smash.

With over 40 workshops, this two-day conference will provide opportunities for participants to start smashing those barriers through:

  • Connecting with other like-minded professionals;

  • Experiencing the latest technological advancements in braille and assistive technologies;

  • Exploring new ideas;

  • Improving their skills and knowledge; and

  • Gaining key practical experience from industry experts to aid in career advancement.

What to expect
