CNIB Foundation's culture, sports and recreation programs provide you with opportunities to take part in a variety of creative classes, community-based workshops, physical activities and excursions.

Touching Sound – Waterloo Workshop

Interdisciplinary artists, Olivia Brouwer and Dawn Matheson, collaborate with CNIB to host a free accessible sensory-led nature walk and creative workshop in Waterloo at the Walter Bean Grand River Trail and Waterloo Public Library Eastside Branch for participants who are blind and partially sighted. The workshop will involve the creation of sound-activated mixed media sculptures based on recordings and sensory activities within the natural environment. Saturday, May 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Walter Bean Grand River Trail.

Come To Work – Achieving Your Goals

Join Roger Khouri from CNIB's Come to Work program for a presentation on all things employment. What is the Come to Work program? What skills do they teach? How do they connect you with employers? Brantford Mobile Hub: CNIB Lake Joe Information Session

Learn more about CNIB Lake Joe, Canada’s only fully accessible camp for people with sight loss. It’s not just for kids with campers but for 2-92 years of age, enjoying the chance for rest and recreation in beautiful Muskoka. We’ll talk about the people who visit Lake Joe, our facilities and activities, and why CNIB Lake Joe is a magical place. Thursday, May 30 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Brantford Public Library.

Niagara Hysterical Historical Walking Tour

Join us for a hysterical historical walking tour in Niagara -On-The-Lake! A bus will pick up participants at a pre-determined location in St. Catharine's. We will travel to Niagara-On-The-Lake, where we will enjoy a walking tour through Historic Olde Town with our very funny local tour guide. After, you will be able to explore a few shops, like the Lavendar Boutique, pick up a delicious lunch pastry from Nina Gelateria & Pastry Shop if you are feeling hungry or even purchase a Christmas Item at Just Christmas. The bus will depart at 2 p.m. back to St. Catherine's.

Bible Study Group

Make new friends, or deepen existing friendships, find support from your peers, and develop more theological insight about biblical understanding. The Bible Study group meets every Thursday (September to June) from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Central Time on Zoom.

CNIB Unbound Book Club

CNIB Unbound is for everyone! Although the group is specifically tailored to people with print disabilities like blindness, anyone who cares about accessible literacy is welcome to join.
