CNIBLakeJoe@Home virtual programs are here to stay

We love celebrating all anniversaries big and small!

In May, CNIBLakeJoe@Home virtual programs celebrated its first anniversary. The two programs we piloted – Coffee Break and Family Trivia – have grown significantly and today we have over 26 exciting virtual program offerings that have entertained and connected 220 guests of all ages. For the first time ever, CNIB Lake Joe guests participated in programming all year long, connecting with friends and fellow campers weekly throughout the year.

In 2021, we have a full team of talented staff who are expanding the list of free CNIBLakeJoe@Home programs you can enjoy. Here is a sneak peek of virtual programs that will continue to grow. Pre-registration is required for all programs at least one full business day before the start of the program. We encourage you to visit CNIBLakeJoe@Home for full details and to register!

Summer Camp-in-a-Box for the Kids

We had so much fun last year that we are repeating our four-week Camp-in-a-Box program for campers ages 6-18 years. Friends and siblings are welcome too! Each week we will meet with campers Monday - Friday, twice daily, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Eastern Time, for an hour via Zoom. Campers will receive a box filled with accessible activities to enjoy both independently and all together in our daily Zoom sessions. Each week will have a different theme. Due to the limited number of boxes available, we ask that you choose one or two weeks to start. If you are interested in attending additional weeks, we are happy to put you on a waiting list.

Week One: July 19-23, “All About Summer” camp

This week has a little bit of everything - summer camp style! We’ll explore cool creations, music, games, and more.

Week Two: August 2-6, All About Science

Put on your lab coat and grab your safety goggles, this week we are going to explore the world of science! From experiments, to nature, to kitchen creations, there’s lots to unpack.

Week Three: August 16-20, All About the Arts

Music is in the air! Join us this week to discover more about the arts, with a focus on music and drama. Together we will make music, design structures, and learn about our creativity within. !

Week Four: August 30-September 3, All About Sports

Get up and going with this movement-based Camp in a Box! In our All About Sports week, we will explore by doing. Join us as we discover new sport skills, engage in friendly competition, and get back to some classic camp activities.

Leaders in Training Camp-in-a-Box for Youth

The virtual Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program is a unique opportunity for youth between the ages of 15-21 to develop their skills as a leader and to learn what it's like to facilitate programs virtually, and in person.

  • From July 26 - 30, LIT participants will meet Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time via Zoom.
  • From August 3 – 6, everyone will meet Monday – Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
