Ability4Good Let's Play and Chat Group is a weekly online social group that aims to provide a safe environment for children and youth to build connections and friendships with peers. As a result, the program hopes to improve the mental wellness of children and youth despite experiences of physical and social isolation from their environment and peers.
During the program, children and youth will participate in different activities. Group Discussion is intended to invite children and youth to practice their communication skills with peers through activities that spark intentional conversation.
Creative Activities are variety of structured activities based on the children and youth's interest. It ranges from arts and crafts, baking, music, online board games, and other fun activities.
Mindfulness Practice aims to provide a calm space for the children and youth using guided meditation and music. Exploration Task are simple assignments intended to promote the children and youth's interest with physical activities and the environment outside the program.
The Youth Group (ages 8-11) meets every Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time via Zoom web conference.
