BALANCE for Blind Adults Presents: Music Appreciation Group

The topic for this six-week session will be: The Evolution of Recorded Music.

In this discussion group, we’ll examine how music has been recorded through the decades. Using original multi-track recordings, Dan will break down and discuss the ever-evolving techniques, tricks, and technologies that allow music to sound the way it does today. We’ll also look at interesting stories of famous artists who broke the mold and set new standards for recorded music and discuss how their creativity changed audio forever.

Dan is one of the most in-demand electric bass players in the Toronto music scene, whose musicality, time feel, and work ethic has led to him sharing stages with a number of high-profile artists including Jojo Mason, Andrew Hyatt, Shawn Austin, Madeline Merlo, and Jesse Cook. He is the in-house arranger and musical director of the Supersonic Hearts Band and is the in-house bassist for both Coach House Studios and Westend Studio.

This six-week course meets every Wednesday (September 22 to October 27) from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom
