CNIB is hitting the road to bring our innovative programs to life in your community! Meet the CNIB Mobile Hub – a new program delivery model where we visit your community to deliver in-person programming at no cost to you.

We’d love for you to join us when we visit Brantford, Ontario at the Brantford Public Library (173 Colborne Street, Brantford) on Thursday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Drop in to meet CNIB staff and learn more about free programs and resources for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. Enjoy a day of recreational and social activities, technology workshops, and much more. Experience the latest breakthroughs in assistive tech from CNIB SmartLife and connect with other members of the sight loss community. 

Our free programs are designed to educate, entertain, and engage community members who are blind, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers. Below, you will find a copy of the program schedule. While registering for Mobile Hub programs is strongly encouraged, walk-ins are also welcome. To register over the phone, please call 1-800-563-2642.

1. CNIB SmartLife: Thursday, May 30, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Accessible products are available to test and purchase by debit or credit (no cash). View the accessible product catalogue to browse the most popular items from CNIB SmartLife’s wide range of helpful consumer products. Want to try before you buy? Ask about the SmartLife Tech @ Home program.

2. CNIB Lake Joe Information Session: Thursday, May 30, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Learn more about CNIB Lake Joe, Canada’s only fully accessible camp for people with sight loss. It’s not just for kids with campers but for 2-92 years of age, enjoying the chance for rest and recreation in beautiful Muskoka. We’ll talk about the people who visit Lake Joe, our facilities and activities, and why CNIB Lake Joe is a magical place. Register for Lake Joe Info. Session

3. CNIB Guide Dogs Information Session: Thursday, May 30, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Come out and join us for an informative session about CNIB Guide Dogs. Guest speaker, Tracy Garbutt, will join us via Zoom to discuss the program, the application process, and his personal experiences as a guide dog handler. Register for CNIB Guide Dogs Info. Session.

4. Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) Information Session: Thursday, May 30, 1:30 p.m. – 2:45  p.m.

Have you heard of  Vision Loss Rehabilitation Ontario (VLR)? Don't know if you should be registered with the organization, or how to? Come and join us for coffee and snacks as you learn about the programs and services offered by VLRC. Register for VLR Info Session
