Understanding, support, mentorship and advice. Peer Support groups give you the opportunity to connect with others who are living with sight loss.
Seeing Things: Charles Bonnet Syndrome Group
This group is specifically for those who are experiencing symptoms/have had a diagnosis of CBS. Participants meet monthly for this conversational support group. The Charles Bonnet Syndrome Group meets on Zoom on the third Wednesday of every month from 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
Kingston Coffee and Chat
Join us for coffee and great conversation. We will have guest speakers, and an opportunity to talk with others who are going through similar challenges in a confidential and non-judgmental setting. Coffee & Chat meets at the CNIB Kingston Hub on the third Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time.
Ottawa Coffee/Tea and Chat
Join us for coffee or tea and great conversation. There will be guest speakers, interesting conversations and a chance to connect with your peers and community. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Come on out, meet with your peers, let’s chat! Ottawa Coffee/Tea and Chat meets at the CNIB Ottawa Hub on the third Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time.
Sudbury Peer Group – In Person
This peer support group is intended to allow participants that reside in the Sudbury area to meet and engage in a social environment with their peers. Third Wednesday of every month from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the CNIB Sudbury Hub.
Tuesday Zoom Coffee and Chat
The informal coffee chat group is a chance to socialize and meet new people. It is a very warm and welcoming group of regulars and newcomers. The Tuesday Zoom Coffee and Chat group meets on Zoom every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Atlantic Time.
Eastern Canada Social Meet Up
Are you craving that social interaction you normally get from going for coffee with friends ? We are here to keep the virtual conversation going post pandemic! Since we've gotten to know each other, lets stay connected and share some good news stories, discuss practical tips and successes with others living with vision loss. The Eastern Canada Social group meets on Zoom, every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
Coffee Time
This is a virtual group that gets together every Thursday morning for a general group conversation. There is no planned topic of conversation but it is kept positive and light! Coffee Group runs on Zoom every Thursday from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Newfoundland Time
Sudbury Peer Group
Connect with other people in the Sudbury area for conversation, support and good practices. This peer support group meets every Friday on Zoom, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Ontario North Connex
This is a virtual peer support group aimed at connecting participants all across the North region. Topics will vary from confidence building, technology, adjusting to vision loss. Ontario North Connex meets on Zoom biweekly on Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Zoom information will be shared after registering.
Algoma After Sight Group
A phone-based peer support group for people who are blind or partially sighted to learn from and connect to others who understand their experiences. Come and share tips and tricks with other participants relevant to your community and connect with local resources. This group is for people with sight loss living in the Sault Ste. Marie/Algoma district. The Algoma After Sight Group meets on Zoom or telephone on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m. Call in information will be shared after registering.
