The Zoom Room for Kids is turning into a Fairy Tale Factory!

Join Teaching Artist and Oboist, Joey Salvalaggio on an exploration of the world tradition of fairy tales and nursery rhymes and how they are represented in music. From the familiar to the obscure, from Jack in the Beanstalk to Baba Yaga, these sessions take you on a journey around the world, exploring different cultures and music. But a visit from Mr. Joey wouldn't be complete without creating our own brand new fairy tale classic that will endure for years to come.

While the program is geared for children ages 7-12, everyone is welcome. There will be a mix of listening, movement and collaborative activities to keep every participant engaged.

Joey Salvalaggio held the position of Principal Oboe with the Memphis Symphony for 20 years and has been a Teaching Artist for the Memphis Symphony, the Canadian Opera Company, the CNIB, and Sudbury's Rainbow District School Board. In 2024, he was awarded a Northern Arts Project grant from the Ontario Arts Council that allows him to present music and storytelling camps for the Greater Sudbury Public Library.

Zoom Room for Kids meets every Wednesday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Zoom.  Zoom information will be shared after registering.
